01 · About

A career built at the intersection of medicine, science, and industry.

From treating HIV patients in clinical practice to bringing innovative therapies to market, Dr. Stanley T. Lewis has dedicated his career to improving patient outcomes through medicine, research, and biotechnology innovation.

A board-certified physician trained at the University of Texas Medical School, Dr. Lewis began his career caring for the most vulnerable — leading clinics for HIV positive women, the undocumented, and the deaf — while teaching residents at UT Houston and authoring more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstracts.

He transitioned into biotechnology leadership, taking on roles of Director of Drug Development at Tanox, Medical Director at Genentech, and Vice President & Chief Medical Officer at TaiMed Biologics — where he led the clinical program that earned U.S. FDA approval of TROGARZO™, the first-in-class long-acting antiretroviral for multi-drug resistant HIV.

As Chief Medical Officer of Ansun Biopharma, he delivered investor presentations resulting in a $100M Series B raise and pivoted the organization to mount a Phase 2/3 COVID-19 trial in six months. Today, as Founder & CEO of A28 Therapeutics, he is advancing AT-101 — a targeted lytic peptide built to redefine what cancer therapy can be: effective, tolerable, and patient-centered.
